Comprehensive business development

For team coaches and consultants

Recommendation: start with the core curriculum in the Intermediate program. It provides a framework for your business development strategy and creates space for you to really explore your own edges, your prospective client’s edges, and the complex labyrinth inside their organization.

How the intermediate program works

This comprehensive program is for coaches and consultants who have good practitioner skills and want to win more organization-level team coaching work. It’s spread over two months to enable independent action. Key outcomes:

  • strategically position your work with potential clients
  • find and contract valuable team coaching clients – going beyond workshops and training events
  • work with them beyond quick fixes, enabling sustainable change to address their needs and winning repeat business
  • generate exceptional value for yourself, your clients, and your clients’ clients.

Core curriculum

Each session is packed with live demos and skill building interactive practice on the real nuts and bolts of building your business through client relationships and value generation. Before each module, the highly experienced instructor, Mish Middelmann, will send you a clear, direct video keynote to watch. This will support your preparation and maximise our interactive time during actual sessions.

Outline of the four modules:

  1. Strategic positioning and edges to cross What makes your work really valuable to clients: the edges clients have to cross to hire a team coach. Expand your network of genuine relationships. Crossing your own edges to put yourself out there, beyond social media and packaged products.
  2. Deepening value conversations Building potential client relationships – value conversations and consultative selling. How your brand can back you up. What to do and say when potential clients ask for the quick fix or a package solution.
  3. Navigating complex organizations Feeling into the system beyond the parts you can talk to. Applying your deep systemic understanding to the sales process, knowing that large client organizations never reveal their whole selves to you. Smart, low cost pre-meeting research.
  4. From conversation to contract Structure: Proposals, pricing and marketing. Retention: what to measure and how to maintaining client relationships for long term value.

These are masterclasses where you address the inner and outer journey to successful team coaching business development.

It’s a refreshing and grounded take on business development for team coaches, practical without being formulaic. The program meets you where you are and helps you find your own authentic way of engaging clients, rather than handing you a script. Expect to be stretched in how you think about value, language, and relationship. You will also be supported in turning insight into action at a pace that’s sustainable.
